National Block – The George-Madcap Lounge

This project was completed in 2021. 

The National Block project was an exciting job the consisted of rehabbing and converting a previously condemned 138 year old building built in 1882. For Wellenstein and Sons this building consisted of 3 projects in 1. First is the upper 2 levels of the building which include 12 high apartments. The second is the buildings first floor which is occupied by the George-an event space/ball room with a 225 person capacity. Lastly, the buildings lower level was converted into the Madcap lounge-a private event space drawing inspiration from a London club with a 200 person capacity.

Wellenstein and Sons, Inc. performed all rough and finish carpentry work on this project-starting with structural repairs to the buildings wooden frame and ending with the event space finish carpentry.
